Poor People in developing INDIA

I wake up everyday in the comfort of my apartment in Mumbai, India with the bed tea at my bedside and wanting to snuggle in the bed for some more time to enjoy the beautiful sleep. I am thankful to god for what I have today in life and am very satisfied with the life without much struggle.

But the moment one step out of house and you see the way people are living on roads and don’t have enough to eat and most of time eating left over food from garbage, you tend to ask the people responsible at the government as to what are they doing to help these poor people and what steps are being taken to improve the living conditions of poor people of India.

But the future is grim, every government is proud to keep saying that India is growing in fast pace and they repeatedly throw a blind eye to poor people and horrible conditions the people are living in India.

You travel to any part of India; one will see slums & people living on roads. It’s a pity the way people are living like animals. People live on slums, which are made on drains, and their children are playing in the dirty drain water and end up with all sort of disease.

The slums are present next to railway tracks and people are very prone to accidents here. Children are main suffers as lose their limbs in train accident or are killed everyday. Every government just turns a blind eye year after year.

In India, the medical waste is a big concern as they are mostly mixed with regular garbage and the poor people who earn their daily bread by selling plastics and metal stuffs got from garbage are infected with deadly disease like AIDS when they get infected from needles used in hospitals and clinics.

Every time I drink water at my home, I am certain that the water is potable and clean of any water borne disease but not many people are lucky in India to get clean and potable drinking water. People are dying from water borne disease like Diarrhoea and children are mainly affected by lack of clean drinking water.

If you ask me about sanitation in India, the facilities are an eye sore and disgusting. You will find many times people answering nature’s call on roadside. They cannot be blamed entirely as there are no facilities for people with proper sanitation facilities.

If our government is still saying that India is growing very rapidly, I would disagree with this as 60% of population of India are in rural areas and don’t earn enough for one time meal for one and family.

I always try my best to help this poor people with food and clothing that is within my means. I have good friends who also pool in funds to help these unfortunate souls with every possible help.

To conclude this, I have only one things to say that India is a beautiful country with many people needing help with basic things like food, clothing shelther. God Bless India!
